About Me

Have a doodle instead of me

I've always enjoyed being an artist. Starting at a young age, I would always have a notebook and pencil out and at the ready, even in my classes. My passion for video games also started early with my introduction through the DS and PlayStation 2, where I played a variety of games from 2D platformers, such as Sonic, to first-person shooters, such as Battlefront 2 (Classic). With these interests growing together, they quickly intertwined and sparked my interest in more complex art forms than sketching. While in middle school, I would learn my next art form, 3D modeling in Blender, through some quick-start guides on YouTube for the basics (before I knew the name Blender Guru). It wouldn't be until I finally entered high school that I would finally be given access and guidance on the Adobe Suite, giving me a very nice array of skills. However, my first year at Bradley would be my first true experience with Unity and scripting in C#, with classes in game art and anatomy mixed in to not let my "art muscle" relax too much.
When it comes to team work, my array of skills enables me to cover any roles remaining unfilled, as well as help other teammates out with issues they may come across. While visuals had been my strong suit for some time, my most recent group projects have enabled me to have more time working with scripting, and I've been enjoying the increase in complexity. However, instead of finding a role to specialize in, I would spend my own time rotating around the design process and working on different projects focused on the involved aspects. This typically could equate to working on a song for a week (focusing on mastering and overall dynamicity of the music) before moving to scripting in C# (to work on a custom physics-based first-person movement system).
With my array of skills, I enjoy having the ability to create games alone, as sometimes it can be fun to have total creative freedom over a project. While a majority of my life has been spent creating visual art, it appears as though that may be taking a back seat while I enjoy scripting. Sure, visuals are nice, but what's the point in making all these visuals if I can't play with them?
